Richard Rooley FREng
Founder & Director of TeamBuild |
Richard founded the competition, originally called Build-a-building in 1990. He recognised that poor communication was the cause of numerous problems within the industry and so designed the competition to try and enhance those skills in young professionals. Richard has worked tirelessly on the organisation of the competition every year since.
Richard is a consulting engineer in London, in the fields of building services and project management. He also acts as an arbitrator, expert witness, and mediator in disputes. He has links to many institutions including acting as president of ASHRAE. |

Alex MacLaren RIBA
Director of TeamBuild & Co Chair of Working Party |
Alex was the architect on the winning team in 2005. Since then she has been on the working party taking the role of Co Chair in November 2007. She looks after our website.
Alex is partner in a small architecture and project management firm, WyattMaclaren LLP, based in Hackney, London. She is founder of engineroom llp, a multi-disciplinary building design consultancy, she examines for the ARB and she teaches at Edinburgh University. |

Ruth Bailey CEng

Ruth was on the 2005 winning team with Alex. She has been on the working party since then, becoming co Chair with Alex in November 2007. She is responsible for coordinating publicity.
Ruth currently work in Hong Kong as a Project Manager with MACE Group. She also sits on the Young Members Panel of the Institution of Structural Engineers. |

Richard Schofield FRICS

Richard has been a judge for TeamBuild for four years but in 2007 he decided his talents would be better suited to the organisational role of the Working Party.
Richard is a project manager with his own company, Rider Hunt Management Services based in Leeds. Richard is also an eminent member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and the Association for Project Managers. |

Henry Nicholson MEng
Member of Working Party |
Henry was a member of the winning team in 2008. He also participated in the 2007 competition where his team won the prize for contract strategy. Since then he has become a member of the working party.
Henry is a sustainability consultant at BDP and works on a wide range of projects including hospitals, schools, mixed use developments and masterplanning schemes. He hopes to develop the sustainability of all Teambuild events. |

Jay Shah RIBA

Jay was a member of 'Multiplicity' in 2009, winning the Judges' Award.
Jay is an Associate at Foster + Partners and a LEED AP. His areas of work include: High rise, Infrastructure Architecture, Computational Design, Building Information Modelling, Sustainability and LEED processes. Currently he is working on projects across Middle East and South East Asia

Jen Stables ICE

Jen was a member of 'Re : generation' in 2009, a team formed of individual applicants. She found the competition to be an excellent way to make friends across the industry, improve her presenta tion skills and add to her CPD list .
Jen is a Structural Engineer in the London Buildings team at AECOM , though this year she will be taking a secondment to work on site with Kier . She is currently one of the two Graduates on Council for the ICE and a Trustee of the Institution. Any spare time she has tends to be spent organising events for the ICE London G&S Committee . |

Greg was the leader of the winning team in 2007 and was asked to join the Working Party immediately after.
Greg works for Buro Happold as a senior water engineer in the Olympics Group.

Richard's involvement with Teambuild goes back to when employed as an events coordinator at the ICE. He now has his own company, Event Logistic, but we are lucky enough to still have his services for the organisation of TeamBuild. |

Sara works for the Construction Skills as a Press Officer and gives of her time and advice to the Teambuild Working Party to help increase awareness of the competition. |
