Our 2022 competition has been rescheduled to take place from 18th to 20th November, 2022.
It was hoped that the event could be held in March, as the pandemic recedes, but as the industry regroups and restructures following the impacts of COVID, and issues around transport, delivery and more recently energy prices, the event will now take place in November 2022, the month in which the event usually takes place.
“Teambuild has taken place each year for the last 30 years,” says Chair of Trustees Patricia Bessey. “This year once again we have received a strong core of entries and sponsorship from leading construction companies and organisations in the UK. We would like to thank all of you for your continued support. However, we have received feedback from many companies to the effect that they would appreciate time for the sector to restructure following the impact of unprecedented conditions. Many organisations are also now looking to reassess their new requirements for a managed return to offices.
“As a result we have taken the decision to take more time to engage with our stakeholders and ensure the event is supporting the new challenges relevant to our sector. We are rescheduling the event to November and plan to bring the event back in a new, enhanced form to set Teambuild in a post-pandemic era.”
The competition has once again been supported by major industry bodies including CIOB, the CET, WCC, WCCA, RIBA and RICS and more recently GIRI. It is now due to be held at Lane End Conference Centre near High Wycombe from 18th to 20th November, 2022.
In addition, past and future participants and other stakeholders will be invited to participate in engagement events so that we can use their valuable feedback to improve and innovate for the November event.
“The truth is that our sector and the world at large is facing challenges and working practices which have changed dramatically in a very short period,” says Teambuild chair Patricia Bessey. “We felt that it was important to take a step back to ensure that we have listened carefully to how we can adapt and evolve Teambuild to serve its core mission of 30 years’ standing — to enhance collaboration and leadership skills for the future success of the sector.
