The 26th annual Future Leaders competition is now open for entries,

This one-of-a-kind, talent-building contest takes place from 16th-18th November, and we’re now inviting entries from multi-disciplinary design and construction teams and individuals!

About the Competition

Organised by Teambuild, Future Leaders is a cross-disciplinary construction contest, where teams from tier one, two and three companies compete over an intense two-day programme on the completion of a real design & build project, all via a simulated scenario.

Every year, we attract competitors from major contractors and consultancies representing all disciplines within our industry.
Future Leaders is not only a result-driven and highly effective training event, but also an unparalleled opportunity for early careers staff to network between themselves and with different companies.

Skills gained

Participating graduates and their managers have given outstandingly positive feedback about the accelerated learning in

  • Decision-making under pressure
  • Leadership and drive
  • Innovative thinking
  • Project management
  • Risk assessment
  • Delivering on budget
  • Delivering on time

How to Enter

The competition is open to entries from all construction industry professionals with less than six years post-graduate experience in the industry. The first stage of entering is to visit www.teambuilduk.com and register your interest by clicking  ‘REGISTER’ in the top right corner; the deadline for registration is 7th September.

Teams will usually contain six individuals who represent a good spread of disciplines. It’s popular to put together a team with members from companies with which you work regularly, as a way to develop relationships between project teams as well as advance the careers of promising members of staff.

If bringing together a full team is difficult, we offer a ‘matchmaking’ service – so partial teams, or individuals would be welcomed and supported to link up with others and form a team!

What are the Benefits of Competing?

  • The intensive learning format is recognised by all major institutions as equivalent to four days of CPD.
  • Future Leaders is funded by CIOB, ICE, IStructE, CIBSE, the Manly Trust, the Architects Company and Worshipful Company of Constructors and supported by CIC, ICES, IMechE, RIBA, RICS and RTPI.
