2012 Site: King’s Cross

Back to Past Sites

The current redevelopment of  King’s Cross, some 67 acres, is restoring its heritage buildings and creating 20 new streets and 10 new squares. It will provide 4.3 million sq ft of new workspace, 500,000 sq ft of shopping, cafés, bars and restaurants, and 2,000 new homes.

Our 2012 Competition will ask teams to compete through the design, procurement and construction phases of their own designs for a part of this extraordinary site. We are excited to be working with King’s Cross and Argent, who are supporting this training and who encourage excellence, innovation, experiment and above all, collaboration.

Teamwork and Collaboration are key to the future of the UK construction industry. Modern methods of design and procurement require training of a different type: partnerships between disciplines are key to project success.
