The site and project for the 2018 competition was kindly provided by St Edward Homes, a residential led mixed-use development at Green Park Village, located to the west of the urban area of Reading.
The overall winner of the 2018 Future Leaders Competition was Consilio, a team from BDP and Mace.
Teams faced a series of challenges that replicated real life design and construction tasks developing innovative and creative solutions to the scenarios presented. A number of prizes were on offer to the competitors, the most prestigious of which is the Overall Winner. The site and project for this years competition was provided by St Edward Homes: a residential led mixed-use development at Green Park Village, located to the west of the urban area of Reading.
PRIZES + SPONSORS
The following prizes were awarded in 2018:
• The winning team, Consilio, were awarded a prize of £2,000, sponsored by the Worshipful Company of Constructors. They were commended for their professionalism, enthusiasm and team working skills. The team comprises six young professionals from BDP and Mace.
The members of the winning team are: Alice Galvin (Landscape Institute, BDP); Jon Hall (IEMA, BDP); Rodolfo Leon (ITESM, BDP); Christina McHugh (CIBSE, BDP); Gergana Popova (RIBA, BDP) and Marcel Peeperkorn (PMI, MACE).

‘Although it was a close fought competition the judges were unanimous in awarding Consilio the Team Build prize Constructors Award for their professional and ingenious solutions to challenging problems set’.
• The Procurement, Contract and Risk Prize was awarded by the Worshipful Company of Chartered Architects and was presented by Master Barry Munday to Aedifico, a team from Buro Happold Engineering and Cartwright Pickard. This team were awarded a prize of £1,500.
The members of the Aedifico were: Kendrick Fordjour (CIBSE, Buro Happold Engineering); Adam Hong (IET Buro Happold Engineering), Ayaz Khan (RIBA, Cartwright Pickard), Dominic Nugent (ICE, Buro Happold Engineering) and Alistair Thomas (ICE/ IStructE, Buro Happold Engineering).
• An individual prize for Leadership was awarded this year by the LCCI Commercial Education Trust, who have supported Teambuild for six years. The prize of £500 was awarded to Marcel Peeperkorn, a project manager from MACE.Back to Past Sites
